We had sailed  5 nice races after several days of no wind. This year you can really feel the tension on the beach, level is really high and 20 riders can probably win a race this year! The ranking is really close after each race.

I love my combo 7,9 Vapor and 71 Manta. I am quite fast with it and confidant. I did 2 finals with that with 3 and 6 and be really surprised about this. Normaly at Jinha beach we had gusty wind (10 to 25 knots) from the right and flat water but this year we get also 20 knots from the left and some 1 meters wave. I like this conditions because it is more technical than flat water and you can jibe/accelerate because of the swell.

So I finished 11 at the end of the event! I am pretty happy about this even if I need to train and tune my equipement for light wind. Because technique is less important in wind below 15 knots than on choppy water and strong wind. A lot of guys are fliyng below 15 knots actually on the tour!

There is 3 weeks before the newt pwa stop in Costa brava.  I am actually 13 of the world ranking, this is quite good but doesn’t means so much because we have done only 2 events on a total of 6. I am now in transit in istanbul for 10 hours… Then I will have to try some news proto Mantas juste shaped by Fabien Vollewaider… and try to sail also a bit in wave for fun too!

So Leucate was a great speed event. I mean that was a real great speed event!!! Kite against windsurfers on a 500 meters run.

So we had 4 races of 1h30 in total for each of them. I sailed 2 times in 7,1 meters, 1 time in 6,4 and 1 time in 5,7. I used my 54 and 49 Tabou gun. It is not often to do speed in 5,7 meters!! My best run was 41,5 knots on the finish screen. It was the second best run of the event.Antoine Albeau has got a better run by 0,3 knots and I finished 4 of the event, I am pretty happy about this.

Kitesurfers were still fast. Congratulations to Rob Douglas, the flying Kitesurfer who deserve to win this speed event. He is a great athlete.So there were 3 windsurfers on the top 4 ranking; it is a much better result than last year. All windsurfers worked to improve theirs results and this worked. I personnaly have a new gun from Fabien Vollenweider for light and medium wind who is sick. I tryed a lot of guns this winter to make the best one possible.

After the speed event, we also have done some long distances in slalom gear time. I used my Gaastra Vapor 6,4 meters and 61 Tabou Manta board on 25 knots. There were me, A2 and Anders Bringdal against  100 kitesurfers. In this conditions the windsurfers are clear faster because they can keep the speed on the chop and going upwind or downwind. The Kitesurfers are flying in really flat water on a speed run but not yet on all conditions. I finished 2 in all of them even if i had a big crash with Rob on the first one!!

Next confrontations in one year!!

It was in maui with on shore wind. I sailed with the Manta 71 and Vapor 7,1.

I have prepare and sticked all my new slalom gear and try it several time now. I am still waiting some new fins but everything seems going good.

Last week I sailed 2 days back to back in Carro with my pocket 93 and manic 5,0. Wind was a bit light and waves not big, but it was fun!!

I don’t know if i will love doing race on it like I love my 8,2 for waves!!  I will do some event this year if I find some time.

Fun to see how a wave can roll me!

I planned to try my brand new 6,4 Vapor (the only size that I dont’ have tryed yet) but when I arrived on the beach, I realized that it was impossible! 40/50 knots were blowing.

So i rigged my 5,7 Vapor with my manta 61 and have some quick run.

Pascal Toselli was there and also Matteo Iachino form Italie. I have tryed mostly several fins…
